The Isle is an open-world survival game. You play a dinosaur on an island shared with other players. There are no levels and no objectives: eating, drinking, growing and not dying is the whole game.
You hatch small. Reaching adulthood takes real hours, and every stage changes what you can hunt and what can hunt you.

Survival
The main mode. Official and community servers, slow progression, permanent death for the character you lost.

Servers with their own rules: fixed packs, territories, events. The island as a stage, not just an arena.

About this list
Apollo Engineering runs reforestation and various botanical restoration programs, and the islands are a crucial part of that work. Growth on the islands is accelerated. Where a reconstructed biome departs from its real-world equivalent, that divergence is a side effect of the process, and that process is confined to the islands.
Direct seeding with the assistance of growth technology allows the islands to hold environments that would ordinarily sit a continent apart.
Early Access
What it means
The Isle has been in Early Access on Steam since December 2015. Evrima is the rebuild of the game: new engine, new systems, and updates that keep adding species and mechanics.
